MUMBAI, INDIA — Empowering Tech are proud to have one of the world’s leading assistive technology manufacturers, Wizcom Tech, under their banner— and even prouder to have been there and joined by international swimmer and neurodiversity advocate Shubham Vanmali as Wizcom formally opened their new Research & Development Centre in Goregaon yesterday.
Due to rapid expansion, Wizcom Tech has moved into a brand-new research and development centre which will help the team continue creating the very best reading devices the world of assistive technology has to offer. They're Empowering Tech's technical experts and tech innovators, with years of experience in assistive technology and neurodiversity— just like our other EdTech experts, Scanning Pens.
Attending the official opening at Wizcom Tech were representatives from the British Deputy High Commission, The Maharashtra Dyslexia Association and members of local schools, including the principal of Maharashtra’s prestigious Aatman Academy.
The guest of honour? Inspirational international open-water swimmer, dyslexia advocate, and Mumbai resident Shubham Vanmali, a prominent advocate for neurodivergent minds after being diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia whilst studying in Grade VIII. He continues to drive awareness around dyslexia throughout India and has become an inspiration to so many with reading differences.
In a joint statement about the grand opening, founders of Empowering Tech Jack Churchill OBE and Toby Sutton OBE said:
“We are so excited to be opening this new Research and Development centre in Mumbai! The team at Wizcom Tech are doing amazing work in helping shape the way the world approaches neurodiversity support, a community very close to our hearts.”
“Empowering Tech is committed to making Mumbai the world’s centre of excellence for reading pen technology. With an office already in Nariman Point, we are proud to be opening this state-of-the-art research and development facility in the city. This is where leading pen scanning devices are being developed for the future.”
"Education is important to us at Empowering Tech, and we want to make sure literacy is easily accessible to everyone. That is why we have built a substantial portfolio filled with brands who are at the forefront of assistive technology development and neurodiversity awareness.”
